There it was. That killer smile. Her eyes sparkled when she smiled, like they were shimmering with the kindness that radiated from her heart. At breakfast, Taylor had told them more about her charity and all the events she single-handedly organized to raise money. Brody and Jay were already filled in by their mothers about how her father had passed when she was a child.

Brody had never imagined such a gorgeous woman could be so down to earth. She had a genuine motive to help others, and her passion for giving radiated through her excited little face when she spoke of all the upcoming projects the foundation was planning. He was impressed with how much time she devoted, how she felt compelled to protect others from the pain she felt from losing her father.

But the best thing about Taylor so far was how her face changed when their eyes would meet. She made him feel like a worshipped God with the way she looked at him, just as crazy for him as he was for her.

Brody watched Taylor chat giddily with Jeremiah. She was affectionate by nature, he noticed. Taylor had a way of making Brody feel as though he were the only one in the room she could see and the only one who mattered. He saw now that she had woven her spell around Jeremiah as well. As they talked, she gazed into his eyes with her full attention, and she had a way of casually touching his arm when she wanted to emphasize a point. And, since they seemed to get along so well, Jeremiah continually brought out that intoxicating laugh of hers. He was rewarded as she took his hand and held it tightly for support while she hung her head back in a hearty laughter.

She and Jeremiah looked like old friends, sharing stories and going over silly fashion details. She looks like an enraptured bride, Brody thought, lost in his thoughts.

“So do you have a color preference for me?” Taylor’s voice and face were painted in joy and excitement.

“Red,” Jay replied without hesitation.

Taylor laughed. “I think that might be a bit of a fashion faux pas since my hair is dark auburn. Maybe hot magenta would be more chic?”

“First of all,” Jay began, “I don’t even know what hot magenta is. Second of all, I have no idea what is chic or what is faux pas in women’s fashion.”

Brody laughed and shook his head. He was thinking the exact same thing.

Jay’s eyes lowered down her body, then back up her face, and then he said in a low voice, “But I do know that red on your toes heats me up enough to make me wonder what my reaction would be if that body of yours was draped in it.”

Jeremiah gasped with a small hand covering his chest. “Oh, my.”

Taylor smiled wide and turned to Jeremiah. “Red it is.”

Jeremiah gave his head a small shake and broke his stare from Jay’s body to turn to Taylor.
